Melo Alvim House is the oldest urban manor house in Viana do Castelo. Faithfully refurbished, this lordly house of the XVI Century has turned into a comfortable and cosy Inn. Right in the historical nucleus of the town, Melo Alvim House provides the Guest calm and tranquillity also fitting the environment features. The House has 20 rooms and suites however with the particularity of none being alike. Rooms and suites, soberly decorated, have been supplied with up-to-date comfort and refinement.

The welcoming of guests to Francisco Melo Alvim Hall is the beginning of a sojourn in a cosy and refreshing environment. A Baroque styled balustrade staircase leads to the upper floors and library.

The House has twenty rooms and suites however with the particularity of none being alike, and decoration of all other areas and saloons follows the same indispensable guide lines. The fabrics used are modern yet resembling the past, according to the chosen style, either by the quality or texture - silks, grosgrains, brocades and damasks - either by the chosen colours and patterns.
Rooms and suites, soberly decorated, have been supplied with up-to-date comfort and refinement.

The cookery of chief Silvestre based on traditional yet creative gastronomy has a detached place at the Restaurant Conde Camarido (Count of Camarido), which is another reference to the history of the house.

After or before a meal, guests have the chance to enjoy their favourite drink in the cosy bar while listening to a piano melody.

Loja is the new next door space created by Casa Melo Alvim. It was restored and prepared very carefully in order to create a familiar ambience. It has products like Portuguese wines, Portuguese oil, compote/jam and other products. In this private place enjoy a perfect meal for small groups.
